Week 8
Postnatal Foundations Online Exercise
Hello There!
Are you managing to get out and about with bub?
Babies, as a general rule, are quite portable creatures: they’ll go along anywhere, and may even sleep better when being rocked around in a car, pusher or carrier. If you get cabin fever or feel stifled by the routine that comes with the feed/nappy change/sleep pattern of a baby then getting out and about may be your saviour. But getting out of the house can feel tough sometimes, especially if you have to be somewhere at a particular time.
Some tips to make it easier are:
Repack the nappy bag after getting back from each outing, rather that on your way out the door
Know what to keep on hand such as wipes, nappies, spare clothes, snacks, dummy, hats etc and not just for baby, for you too!
Think about timing, leaving at naptime if baby sleeps well on the road or when baby is rested if you expect they’ll be staying awake
Have a selection of props that work for you, such as pram, toys, bouncer or carrier

This Week’s Spotlight
Get the lowdown.
Squats
A squat is a great functional movement that helps to strengthen your lower limbs. Nat will take you through how to get the best squat technique, along with when you should activate your pelvic floor through the movement.
Squat and Tuck
This is a modified squat and is great to maintain thigh, buttock and abdominal muscle strength. The tucking of the tailbone engages through abdominals and gets those muscles turning on during this exercise.
Stretch on the Mat
Join MIllie and stretch out on the mat. This class complements the mat class so well and hits all the big muscle groups. Don’t forget that this class is stored on our resources page so you can access it any time.
Posture and Mobility Fitball Class #3
In this class Millie takes the fitball workout to the next level, including squats, bridges, crunches and upper body strength work in the 15 minute class. Grab your resistance band and your water bottle and let’s get started.
